Top-Werk has revealed that it sees Project Qatar 2015 as a viable platform for business.
The German concrete equipment manufacturer sealed a sizeable deal whilst visiting Qatar for last year’s event, and hopes to replicate its success during next week’s show.
The firm, which produces a range of concrete machinery, including concrete block machines, concrete pipe machines, value-adding lines for the treatment of concrete, and autoclaved aerated concrete (AAC) plants, told PMV that the Middle East represents one of its major current focuses.
“We are already active in the Qatari market; so far, we have supplied around 10 plants to the country,” revealed Olaf Kohlhaas, Top-Werk’s sales manager for Qatar.
“We have been quite successful in this market, especially in terms of our value-adding lines and concrete block machines,” he said.
With this in mind, Top-Werk will use next week’s show to promote these products in particular. However, Kohlhaas sees Project Qatar as more than a mere showcasing event, pointing out that he secured an order for a “sizeable plant” whilst visiting the country last year.
“Project Qatar is an important show for Top-Werk,” he said. “When you consider the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and all of the work that must be carried out in preparation, lots of construction is going to take place over the coming years. There is big potential in this market.
“Business across the entire Middle East region accounts for approximately 30% of Top-Werk’s turnover when compared to other parts of the world. Qatar is one of the region’s most lucrative markets, and so is a major current focus for us,” Kohlhaas concluded.
