The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a tender for the implementation of three integrated truck rest stations, in partnership with the private sector. The agreement takes into account all the provisions of the Dubai Public-Private Partnership Law No. (22) of 2015.
The three stations will be located on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street near the third Jebel Ali Industrial Area in the direction of Abu Dhabi; Emirates Street near the entrance to Sharjah, and Dubai Industrial City near Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Street. The sites will have areas of 100,000, 70,000 and 50,000 square meters and accommodate 170-200, 130-150, and 90-100 trucks, respectively. The stations will include services that meet all the basic and daily needs of truck and heavy vehicle drivers, such as specialized technical inspection centers for heavy vehicles, maintenance service centers, stores, restaurants, shops, and rest areas.
