Qatar International Automobiles (QIA) intends to increase the capacity of its Doha service centre by 30%.

QIA, which is MAN Truck & Bus’s authorised dealer for Qatar, is considering the move following significant Q1 2015 sales growth. During this period, the firm sold almost as many MAN units in Qatar than it did throughout the entirety of 2014.

“We also saw a rise in our servicing activities, which increased by 16% compared to the same period of 2014,” explains Iyad Jaradat, QIA’s general manager.

“Our service centre, which is located in Doha Industrial Area, is already a busy workshop. Throughput varies, but usually, we have 400-500 visits from customers every month. We would like to increase the maximum capacity of the facility by 30%,” he reveals.

QIA, which also inaugurated a new Doha showroom yesterday, will complete its service centre expansion in two phases. If all of the necessary certificates are obtained in good time, Jaradat expects work to complete before Q3 2016.

“We are ready to invest,” he says. “QIA has already budgeted for this expansion. Once we have all of the relevant certificates from the authorities, we will start work immediately.”

Joerg Bauch, MAN’s area sales manager for trucks, adds: “The showroom opening and the planned expansion of QIA’s Doha workshop are the next steps towards growing our business even further here in Qatar.

“These are the measures that we must take with our partners to further strengthen MAN’s presence in the region,” he concludes.
