SDLG has begun delivery of a 58-unit order of wheel loaders and motor graders to Shibh Al-Jazira Contracting Company, a Jeddah-based construction firm, through FAMCO, its dealer for Saudi Arabia.
The order, consisting of 30 SDLG LG958 wheel loaders and 28 SDLG G9220 motor graders, was signed earlier in the year for a large-scale highway maintenance project in the country according to FAMCO.
According to Motasim Abulhasan, the central region sales manager for SDLG at FAMCO, the machines will be distributed across 20 different cities in Saudi Arabia for the purposes of the project.
Essam Al-Malik, the senior manager for the central regional at FAMCO, commented: “There are several reasons why we won this deal, including our ability to deliver the machines to the customer’s precise requirements, SDLG and FAMCO’s customer and aftersales support, and our short lead time.”
Established in 1965, Shibh Al-Jazira is one of the largest contractors in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and operates a fleet of over 1,500 machines.
Mohammed Al-Nahas, senior technical advisor at Shibh Al-Jazira, commented: “We are very happy to have selected SDLG. The brand offers high quality products with great specifications; they definitely meet our projects requirements.”
From its six locations – in Qassim, Khobar, Medina, Jeddah, Abha, and Riyadh – Shibh Al-Jazira is currently involved in delivering over 40 ‘mega projects’ across the Kingdom.
