Volvo pipelayers – PL4608 & PL4611 Volvo’s newest pipelayers premiered at the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in November. Bobcat Upgrades cabs The last thing an operator wants to deal with when he has a long day at the levers is an uncomfortable working environment, which is why Bobcat has updated its cabs with a range of new features. Perhaps most importantly for operators in the Middle East is the new air-conditioning system which has been built in to the dashboard and provide 40% more cool air than on previous models. The dash itself had also been improved with new back-lit switches, and the unit has also been lowered to give the operator a better view of the attachment and working area. Bobcat attachments Bobcat has just launched a series of new hydraulic hoist and extension jib attachments for the company’s telehandler range. They’re designed to give telehandlers crane functions with all the flexibility that a telehandler offers. Using the hoist and jib attachments, the telehandler can be used to position loads in places which are difficult to access conventionally using the boom on the telehandler alone. The hoists are indispensable for raising and lowering loads without having to move the boom, and are fitted with a proportional control system for precise positioning of the load. www.bobcat.eu

Cement buckets With more attachments available than the average kitchen mixer ? and a sight more handy, Bobcat’s compact loaders and telehandlers are indispensable construction site task masters. The company’s new range of MB250SD mixing buckets has just added another string to Bobcat bow by allowing operators to mix, transport and pour cement far quicker than a stand-alone mixer.
