Trimble has opened a new office in the UAE dedicated to construction-related technologies.
The facility, which is located in Dubai Internet City, is the company’s largest office in the GCC region.
The move comes as part of Trimble’s broader strategy to increase its regional presence in the lead-up to Expo 2020 and the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
“GCC nations have seen some of the world’s strongest population and commercial growth in recent years, making it vital for local construction projects to keep pace with demand,” said Steven W Berglund, Trimble’s president and CEO.
“Companies in this region have demonstrated a strong interest in technologies that boost the efficiency, quality, and productivity of construction processes – from concept to completion and operation – where Trimble solutions play a major role,” he added.
Trimble has stated that its expanded presence in Dubai underscores its commitment to the GCC region, with the value of projects – planned or underway – having increased 13% year-on-year between 2013 and 2014.
The latest office is intended to enhance collaboration with regional stakeholders, enabling Trimble to strengthen its service, support, and training activities for customers in the Middle East.
Trimble has pointed out that a selection of regional projects are already making use of its technologies. For example, the firm’s machine-control and construction-related tools are supporting work at the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Mall expansion; the New Port Project and National Museum of Qatar in Doha; and the Capital Market Authority Tower and King Abdullah Financial District in Riyadh.
In addition to supporting local customers with construction-related products, Trimble’s latest Dubai branch will be used to supplement operations at the firm’s other GCC facilities in the UAE, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.
