Restrata has appointed Botan Osman as its managing director – a role in which he will lead the safety, security, and training consultancy’s growth strategy for the Middle East.
Osman joined Restrata in 2013 as country director for Kurdistan and North Iraq, and most recently held the position of global director of business development.
His previous roles include technology adviser to the Prime Minister, and head of information technology, for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) of Iraq.
During these roles, Osman founded the Department of Information Technology and developed a number of important initiatives including a regional IT academy, the KRG Biometric Electronic Identification Card System, and a cloud-based regional data centre.
Osman holds a BSc in Software Engineering from Manchester University and has over 18 years’ experience in information technology and management.
