Al Islami has opened up a recycling centre at its headquarters that will collect waste cooking oil that can be fed into SS Lootah’s new biodiesel initiative.

“We are pleased to support the launch of the recycling unit as a pioneering step that turns the growing environmental awareness in the UAE to a practical initiative with tangible economic and environmental benefits,” said Saleh Abdullah Lootah, managing director, Al Islami Foods Group.

He was joined by Yousif Bin Saeed Al Lootah, director at Lootah who commented: “The success of our pilot project has encouraged us to deploy more recycling units in the buildings, colleges and schools that belong to SS Lootah Group. We appreciate the support extended by Al Islami Foods, our sister company, and believe that the contribution of companies and individuals reflect the wise vision of the UAE leadership.”
