Ashghal issues long term heavy vehicles tender

Ashghal, Doha’s public works authority, has issued a tender for the long-term supply of a variety of heavy vehicles and equipment for road maintenance.

While Qatar is still in a holding pattern regarding large contracts related to the World Cup – Al Jaber Engineering MD Osama Hadid predicted this week that we will have to wait until the beginning of 2012 for them to start flowing – the country is continuing to progress the overhaul and maintenance of its infrastructure.

Much of this work is being overseen and regulated by Ashghal and the authority is looking for an eight-year rental arrangement with a company that can supply road and drainage equipment, drivers and operators.

The submission of tenders (the tender is listed as PWA/GTC/039/11-12) should be completed by the 20 December with rhe authority stipulating that the succesful tender winner will supply maintenance services, all related and needed spare parts, provide frequent inspections, and insurance.
