The Saudi Basic Industries Company (SABIC) and China’s Oil and Petrochemical Corporation (CINOPEC) have laid the foundation stone its polycarbonate production complex in Tianjin district, China.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Thinayyan, the President of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, who is also the Chairman of SABIC; Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of SABIC Eng. Mohammed bin Hamad Al-Madhi, the Head of CINOPEC, in addition to a number of senior staff of CINOPEC at Tianjin district.
The plant will produce 360,000 tons of polycarbonate annually for the automotive, data storage, consumer and industrial components markets.
According to the plan, the project will be completed by the 2015.
