Heavy equipment manufacturer Sennebogen is looking to cement its presence in the Middle East, believing that demand for its products will continue to grow, Andreas Geier, general manager of Sennebogen Middle East, recently told organisers of Intermat Middle East.

“For sure there will be some boom markets, like Qatar (2013 onwards, due to the World Cup 2022), Iraq and Egypt (after the political situation stablizes), but even in other markets like Oman, UAE, Kuwait and KSA, we see good possibilities for the next years,” said Geier.

Its equipment has been used through-out the Middle East, including the extension of the Al Ruwais Port, north of Doha, where a Sennebogen 6130 HD duty cycle crawler crane was used to place the giant concrete blocks used to build a new dock wall.

According to the company, Consolidated Engineering Construction Company (CECC) was so happy with the machine that they subsequently ordered a second 6130 HD, which was then delivered.

Geier said that the company is looking forward to establishing relationships with Union Pipes International and Zublin International, and believes an appearance later this year at Intermat ME will help foment contacts across the region.

“Abu Dhabi is the right location for such an exhibition and we hope that it will be an event, which will be fully accepted by the customers from the Middle East, because there is no high class construction equipment exhibition like this in this area.”
