The second annual INTERMAT Middle East conference aimed at the construction plant, machinery and vehicles (PMV) sector was opened in Abu Dhabi today (October 8) by the UAE’s Minister of Public Works, HE Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan.
The event, which is the regional version of the huge Intermat machinery show which takes place in Paris each year. The conference will feature speakers from the Ministry and from the Municipality of Abu Dhabi.
Senior executive from major PMV firms like Liebherr, Sennebogen, WireCo World, Erkat and Terex Finlay are also taking part in the event, which features a conference and exhibition.
Maryvonne LANOË, INTERMAT exhibition director, said: “We are pleased to have the support of the both the MoPW and the DMA. Day one of INTERMAT Middle East 2012 has provided a great networking platform for developers and construction machinery, materials and equipment providers with senior government officials of the UAE.

The event lasts for three days. Day two includes speakers discussing a range of subjects including government healthcare projects, sustainable public lighting, recycling aggregates in road construction and avoiding fires in the use of facades.
