PMV Middle East looks at the heavy machinery adding some weight to the construction market.
Terex/Genie are reaching new heights
The GTH4017 is a high reach rough terrain telehandler part of the Terex/Genie14 strong model range. Used in applications such as construction, landscaping and agriculture, the telehandler has a maximum lifting height of 16.7m, maximum forward reach of 12.4m and a 4000kg lifting capacity of the GTH4017.
The GTH4017 is also highly maneuverable with its hydrostatic four-wheel drive and three power-assisted steering modes: front-wheel, coordinated-wheel and crab steer.
Caterpillar’s new loaders boost output
Caterpillar’s new range of compact wheel loaders promise to boost productivity in industrial, landscaping and road construction applications.
Each of the new compact wheel loaders make use of a high-performance Z-bar loader design, optimised for visibility, strength and versatile attachment usage. A high-speed option, which enables a speed increase from the standard 20 kph to 35 kph along with an optional ride control system smoothes rides at higher speeds.
Each loader also features heavy-duty axles, with outboard planetary reduction. The optional 100% differential lock in both axles can be easily engaged on the move to allow travel over rough terrain without getting stuck. The 906H has a lower overall cab height than the 907H and 908H allowing access into many buildings.
To enable trouble-free operations, the 906H, the 907H and the 908H come with heavy-duty engine wiring, ensuring great electrical durability. The water-resistant sealed connectors prevent dust and moisture interfering with the electrics. In addition, multicoloured wiring has been used to ease diagnosis and fault finding, he adds.
The H-series compact wheel loaders will be available in Europe, Africa and the Middle East starting at the end of 2007.
Muck-truck is in demand
Muck-truck is ramping up production of its micro dumper product in response to demand. The muck-truck is powered by the Honda GCV / GXV 160 5.5hp engine and offers a ¼ tonne payload. It is less than 28 inches wide, climbs 30° inclines fully laden at top speed and has an unladen weight only 92 kg.
The muck-truck has four forward speeds and one reverse, four-wheel drive and has a sealed transmission. A range of attachments is available, including a vacuum, a loading ramp and a flat bed transporter for carrying heavy items such as slabs, turf or up to 120 bricks.
