The organisers of the INTERMAT Middle East conference aimed at the construction plant, machinery and vehicles market, have moved the date of the next event to January.
The firm has said that the Third INTERMAT Middle East event will take place between January 20-22, 2014.
As a review of the exhibition in Construction Week’s sister title PMV Middle East recently revealed, some of the exhibitors had complained that the timing of the second Intermat event in October this year caused issues.
Midday temperatures during the second day of the Abu Dhabi-based event edged towards 40°, which meant some had trouble cooling outdoor booths and not all visitors to the show ventured outside.
However, the event was overall well-received, and that the quality of visitors who attended made up for the fact that numbers were not high.
Announcing the third event and the new date, Exhibition director Matthew Robarts said: “The new January dates reflect the opinions of our key supporters, exhibitors and buyers.
“The third edition will be built upon impressive foundations – our exhibitor surveys conducted onsite found that 88% of exhibiting companies met or exceeded their objectives for participating.
“This reflects the appeal of the market and the success of the exhibition in attracting active senior-level buying groups from across the region.
“The profile of attendees was particularly pleasing, with 60% sourcing projects starting in the next 12 months. This led to deals being signed and new contacts made for our customers within their exhibition stands.”
He added that 72% of those who attended the 2012 event had exceeded the return on investment target they had set for the event, and that 88% had said they would consider returning for the next event.
