Sennebogen will present its new 655 HD duty cycle crawler crane at bauma in Munich in April, said Andreas Geier, general manager of Sennebogen Middle East FZCO.
Adding to its rope excavator range, the machine is suitable for use with diaphragm wall grabs and piping machinery, as well as with drag buckets and leads. The machine is equipped with two 16 tonne winches, driven by high-pressure, variable hydraulic motors, delivering highly efficient power transmission.
The 55-ton machine is described as “a new machine for universal deployment in a wide range of heavy-duty tasks on construction sites and in the extractive industry. Whether it is used with a dragline bucket or in foundation construction, the strengths of this new 55-ton machine are clear to see,” said Sennebogen.
Currently the machine is in testing, but Geier believes the 655 HD will find buyers in the Middle East, with possible uses in the oil and gas fields, but is as well a machine for foundation, dredging, clamshell and dragline.
Sturdy mechanical components are a feature of the 655 HD, including wide, robust pulleys that keep ropes reliably in place and can withstand huge loads. There is also the option of a second rotation gear, which is particularly useful when using a dragline bucket, which in addition to providing extra torque, saves time when emptying the bucket.
The machine can also be configured as a fully fledged crawler crane if required, and with use of the jib, heights of up to 56m are attainable.
