Kobelco Cranes has launched two new fully hydraulic crawler cranes, the 550 tonne lifting capacity SL6000S and the 400 tonne SL4500S, for markets including the Middle East.
The new models are redesigns of the successful SL6000 and SL4500 cranes, said Kobelco Cranes president, Akihiko Tsukamoto.
The evolved SL series has improved and modernised cabs, user-friendly interface with touch screen technology, and improved transport, logistics and efficiency, as well as enhanced crane capabilities, which should see the crane become a favourite at many construction sites, said Tsukamoto.
“In recent years, large crawler cranes were expected to be safer and more environmentally friendly and to have improved operational performance and transportability,” he said.
“Kobelco will as ever strive to be innovative and to meet customers’ needs by further expanding the line-up of crawler cranes and improving customers’ satisfaction.”
Main features of the new cranes include versatility, with each model having three types of configuration: standard, heavy lift, and super heavy lift. Various attachments are also available for all models, such as offering luffing boom, long, luffing jib, and heavy fixed jib.
Improved transportation, with weight reduction, downsizing, and efficient instrument arrangement resulting in a disassembly for transport width within 3.0 m and disassembled mass for transport below 32 tonnes.
Operators will also benefit, with a new cab design and improved instrumentation lay-out, and a cab tilt function to make long hours of lifting at height more comfortable.
