Al Masaood signs local deal on engine deliveries

Al Masaood Group – the Volvo Penta importer in UAE – has signed a deal with regional pump manufacturer ACTION International Services for the delivery of Volvo Penta engines to be used for the operation of a wide range of pumps.

The new deal includes the delivery of Volvo Penta VE 7-to-16L diesel engines for use with high-pressure and centrifugal pump applications. At present, Al Masaood expects to deliver approximately 100 engines per year to its new partner.

“With this agreement, Volvo Penta strengthens further its position as a supplier of high-quality, cost-effective, and fuel-efficient diesel engines for these types of application,” said Volvo Penta’s Giorgio Paris. “Volvo Penta has a long tradition supplying equivalent products to the Middle East; mainly to Saudi Arabia.”

ACTION provides engineered solutions in the fields of dewatering, industrial services, specialised equipment rental and ground engineering works. The new agreement has given the company an opportunity to break new ground, according to managing director Padraig Nagle.

“This contract is a new milestone in our organisation,” he said. “We wanted to standardise our fleet and we always look [to innovate]…We operate in emerging markets, and engineering and design are a few of our company’s core values. We also looked at quality, safety, and care for the environment.”

In turn, ACTION intends to make pump maintenance simpler to use by providing its in-house service team with access to the latest diagnostic tools. Full support from Al Masaood will also add value for customers.

“We’ve got a large fleet of Volvo Penta engines, and that was a major factor in the decision to sign an agreement with Al Masaood,” concluded Nagle.
