Saudi Readymix has launched a virtual academy that offers vocational training and qualifications via remote learning.
The ready-mix concrete producer plans to create a physical location for the academy in the near future.
Established in 1978, Saudi Readymix produces and supplies ready-mixed concrete within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The company is a wholly-owned subsidiary of industrial conglomerate Khalid Ali Alturki & Sons Company (Alturki).
The newly established virtual academy provides training and development programmes for the Saudi Readymix workforce, a scholarship programme for promising students, and a mini-MBA programme. The courses and qualifications offered by the academy are aimed exclusively at existing members of staff and students identified as having the potential to excel at the company.
One of the academy’s scholarship programmes is being conducted in conjunction with the Saudi Petroleum Services Polytechnic (SPSP). Under the SPSP scholarship, 24 KSA candidates are sponsored to train at the institute for two years. This cohort will begin working for Saudi Readymix upon graduation.
Saudi Readymix currently employs more than 3,300 people. Each year, 24 of its existing employees will be given the opportunity to take part in the academy’s mini-MBA programme. Only members of staff identified as having the highest potential to succeed at the company will be selected for this six-month qualification.
A Talent Review Board has been set up to review eligibility, training and development, and to monitor progress and certification upon completion. Saudi Readymix is committed to offering courses to the most promising candidates, regardless of gender, grade or position.
