Construction equipment manufacturer Chicago Pneumatic has launched a major upgrade of its diesel-powered portable compressor range for the Indian market.
The firm has introduced 12 new models in a bid to increase its market share in the subcontinent. The look and feel of the units has been updated, and designers have included new engine-element combinations to provide increased efficiency and productivity.
Additional features offer enhanced safety and reductions in the compressors’ footprints. Chicago Pneumatic claims that the machines’ fuel and oil consumption has also been improved, and that the overall cost of ownership has been reduced.
One of Chicago Pneumatic’s original 125psi single-axle mounted compressors and three of its 100psi single-axle mounted compressors have been replaced by the CPS 250, CPS 325, CPS 400 and CPS 325-125 models.
A new line-up of single-stage, oil-injected, twin-screw compressors has also been introduced: the CPS 450-200, the CPS 500-175, the CPS 550-150, and the CPS 650. The compressor elements of these models are directly coupled to water-cooled Ashok Leyland/AL 6DTi engines.
At the top-end of the upgraded range are Chicago Pneumatic’s high-pressure, two-stage, oil-injected twin-screw element machines: the CPS 1000-275 and the CPS 1200-330. Powered by Cummins engines, these compressors operate at 275psi and 330psi respectively.
The upgraded range forms part of Chicago Pneumatic’s strategy to build on its long-term history in Indian subcontinent. The portable compressors have been designed and manufactured in Pune, Maharashtra, to meet the specific needs of the Indian market.
