Volvo Trucks has launched a video of a daring new stunt by Hollywood actor Jean Claude Van Damme to promte its new Volvo FM range.
The video, called The Epic Split, features Van Damme balancing between a pair of Volvo FM trucks speeding in reverse. He rests a foot on each mirror and does the splits in dramatic fashion as the gap between the trucks widen.
The purpose of the test is to demonstrate the stability and precision of the Volvo’s Dynamic Steering.
“What you see is a body crafted to perfection. A pair of legs engineered to defy the laws of physics. And a mindset to master the most epic of splits,” Van Damme said.
The film was captured in one take without any breaks following a three-day rehearsal. It was taken on a disused airfield in Spain.
“When I saw the storyboard, I thought it looked amazing. It’s very majestic and very powerful,” said Van Damme.
Per Nilsson, public relations director for Volvo Trucks, said: “If the truck can handle Jean-Claude Van Damme on its side mirrors, it will be able to handle most situations.”
