Italian manufacturer Fassi will introduce its F165AZ crane at the upcoming SOLUTRANS trade show in Lyon. The new model will be distributed by Miltra Sas: the exclusive importer of Fassi cranes in France.
The F165AZ crane has been developed with the French market in mind, and specifically for the public works sector. Fassi has incorporated a formidable assembled hydraulic tool – or bucket – to allow the body to remain free from obstructions, making it easier to work underneath the hopper. This characteristic will ensure that the model conforms to a soon-to-be-enacted European directive requiring that loose materials carried by the body remain covered.
The crane employs an innovative geometric solution that allows reversed folding of its outer boom. This feature minimises the unit’s overall dimensions when it is completely folded. The design of the F165AZ gives operators the chance to move booms through a single chain ram assembled inside the outer boom. The optimised dimensions of the machine have allowed its makers to fit all hoses inside the booms.
The prototype that will be showcased at SOLUTRANS will be in the ‘basic’ configuration with a third control station and a Hydrocontrol parallel distributor. The Italian manufacturer also plans to produce a version with a Danfoss compensated proportional distributor and an RCH/RCS radio remote control with a Grab Automatic Shake (GAS) device. Developed by Fassi, this device uses software to precisely and smoothly control bucket movements whilst unloading materials.
Fassi expects to develop new versions of its F165AZ crane in accordance with market demand. Production of the inaugural model is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2014.
