Salamah Group provides health and safety solutions for those operating in the sectors of construction, and oil and gas. The company offers a diverse line-up of products and services, ranging from Robi machinery attachments to Sleipner heavy-equipment transport systems.
As Salamah Group’s managing director Sherif Selim told PMV, health and safety is becoming increasingly important across the Middle East.
“Safety standards have improved dramatically over the last two to three years,” he explained. “This is true of the region in general, but the shift has been particularly noticeable countries such as the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar.”
As high-profile events are secured and new megaprojects announced, the eyes of the world’s media are fixed firmly on regional working conditions. This has served to push health and safety further up the regional agenda, according to Selim.
“In the past, operators have been somewhat reluctant to meet minimum health and safety requirements,” he said. “Today, however, effective health and safety is a competitive advantage – particularly for companies operating within the field of construction.”
This is certainly a growth market, and Selim is committed to spreading the word.
“The solutions that we offer are not yet commonplace in the industry, so one of our immediate focuses is that of education,” he concluded. “Through this strategy, we will increase awareness of how effective health and safety can benefit operators.”
