This year’s Middle East Electricity and Solar Middle East shows have officially opened their doors to the public.
For the next three days, the events – collocated at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre in the UAE – will play host to professionals from across the MENA power industry. A total of 22 government-supported country groups and national pavilions will be present at the events.
“MENA power demand is booming, and the billions of dollars’ worth of investments being pumped into the region’s power sector indicate lucrative opportunities for global players in the energy industry,” said Anita Mathews, director of Informa Energy Group, which is organising Middle East Electricity.
“The show has grown by 10% year-on-year in terms of exhibitor numbers, and we expect more than 50,000 in total attendance over the next three days,” she added.
Day one is dedicated to green energy, and features the launch of the Future Generation competition during which UAE-based engineering students will present alternative energy ideas to industry attendees.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Minister of Finance for the UAE, officially inaugurated Middle East Electricity and Solar Middle East at an opening ceremony earlier today. The shows are partnered with Saudi Energy in Riyadh, Power Nigeria in Lagos, and Africa Electricity in Johannesburg.
