Sany has revealed that it lined up $1.33mn of business on the opening day of The Big 5 Saudi 2014.
The Chinese construction equipment manufacturer showcased a number of models at the KSA show, including the 21-tonne SY215 excavator and the 12-tonne SSR120 roller. Both product lines attracted significant levels of attention during the event, according to senior figures at Sany.
“Sany brought four pieces of new equipment to the exhibition,” said Wang Fengkai, general manager of Sany Middle East. “While presenting the typical models to industry leaders, clients, dealers, suppliers and the media, we also provided customers with the best choices.”
The Sany team operated across 220m2 of indoor and outdoor exhibition space. Sheikh Abdullah, vice president of Sany’s authorised KSA distributor Aljomaih Group, visited the manufacturer’s booth on the third day of the event. In addition to commenting on the quality of the machinery on display, Abdullah suggested that Sany could continue to increase its market share across the Middle East.
“With powerful R&D strength, Sany has always been a leader in the development of engineering machinery from China,” he said. “I hope that [Sany will use this exhibition as an opportunity] to put more efforts into innovation, and to actively open up new markets in the GCC region.”
Sany’s management team was pleased with the turnout at The Big 5 Saudi 2014. The show, which took place from 9-12 March at the Jeddah Centre for Forums and Events, attracted thousands of visitors, and featured construction machinery, aerial work platforms (AWPs), mining equipment, commercial vehicles, and special-purpose vehicles.
Sany Middle East told CW that it booked approximately $3.2mn of equipment orders during the course of The Big 5 Saudi 2014.
