Hunan Sinoboom has revealed that it is on the lookout for partners in the United States.
The Chinese manufacturer of aerial work platforms (AWPs) said that North America represents the last major market in which it would like to establish a presence.
“Firstly, we shall conduct further research into the market here,” said Sinoboom’s general manager Susan Xu Hongxia, speaking to CW at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2014 in Las Vegas.
“We want to find out more about the culture, about niche demand, and about competitors that are already operating in this market,” she added.
Hunan Sinoboom is a relative newcomer to the global AWP market, having been established in Changsha, China, in 2008. Even so, during the course of the last six years, the firm has made impressive inroads in the Middle East, Asian, Australasian, European, and South American markets.
Hongxia told CW that Sinoboom made a conscious decision to leave the North American market until last year.
“We are currently in the process of conducting research and acquiring the appropriate certification. Once we have achieved these goals, we will begin looking for local partners in the US. We want to approach this market in a step-by-step fashion,” she said.
Despite its young age, Sinoboom produces a diverse range of AWPs for the global market, including scissor lifts, telescopic boom lifts, articulated boom lifts, and spider lifts. The manufacturer also offers both diesel and electric varieties.
The company will continue to strengthen its product portfolio this year, with plans to launch a truck-mounted model during the fourth quarter of 2014.
“We are still in the process of designing this unit, but we plan to bring it to market towards the end of the year. We will begin by releasing the unit in the Chinese market. We will then roll out the product to other regions, probably during 2015,” Hongxia revealed.
