Jaidah Heavy Equipment has hosted a celebratory event in recognition of the initial success of UD Trucks’ Quon range in Qatar.
As the Japanese truck manufacturer’s exclusive Qatari distributor, Jaidah was the first GCC outfit to take delivery of the range.
The company sold more than 100 Quon trucks during the course of 2013.
Jaidah’s celebratory gathering, which took place at the Grand Hyatt Doha, was attended by a number of the firm’s key customers, including representatives from Doha Municipality, Boom Construction, Al Ali Projects, and UrbaCon Trading & Contracting. Also present at the event were Mohamed Jaidah, executive director of Jaidah Group; Ayman Ahmed, general manager of Jaidah Heavy Equipment; and Mikito Maruyama, director of UD Trucks Commercial.
“The Jaidah Group has demonstrated consistent drive, leading the way in terms of innovation across all its divisions,” said Jaidah during his opening speech.
“The success of this new range of UD Trucks, Quon, in Qatar by the Jaidah Heavy Equipment division is testament to our commitment to offering the latest technology available on the market to our clients across all sectors,” he added.
UD Trucks’ Quon range for Qatar boasts Euro 3 engines and advanced emergency braking systems. The vehicles, according to Jaidah, have proven popular, in large part, due to the wide selection of add-on trailers that are available.
“We are proud to have introduced this range of Quon trucks to our customers, the new technology, durability, and adaptability of which [have] helped support the work of the construction, transportation, logistics, and energy sectors in Qatar,” commented Ahmed.
Describing the partnership between UD Trucks and its Qatari distributor, Maruyama said: “The commitment shown by Jaidah Heavy Equipment – the first importers of Quon trucks in the GCC – has been fundamental to UD Trucks’ success in the region and we welcome this event to celebrate the impact of the Quon range on the country and our clients.”
