Volvo Construction Equipment has launched a mobile application for used equipment in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
The app offers customers instant access to the entire stock of Volvo Used Equipment in their region via iPhone or iPad.
The tool, which is available for free download from Apple’s AppStore, contains both details of the second-hand equipment available and relevant contact information for each unit.
“We know that more and more customers are searching for used equipment by way of mobile devices,” commented Nick Rose, rental and remarketing director for Volvo CE’s EMEA sales region.
“Up to 40% of current searches for used equipment are via mobile devices, so this App puts Volvo CE and our dealers in a prime position to meet this need in relation to used equipment,” he added.
In addition to details about available equipment, the App offers a dealer locator search function that enables customers to locate their nearest ‘Volvo Approved Used’ search function.
The tool’s designers hope that it will serve to widen the used equipment customer base, and significantly increase the number of product card views.
“The introduction of the App will fundamentally change the way in which customers search for and purchase used equipment,” explained Rose.
“Via the App, customers will be able to contact the specific dealer holding the equipment remotely. As they will be dealing directly with the dealer, they will also potentially have access to other dealer offerings such as finance or even warranties,” he said.
Accessible in 25 languages, the Volvo Used Equipment App provides instant access to the live database of second-hand machinery – both Volvo and non-Volvo – available from the Swedish manufacturer’s approved dealer network. Moreover, Volvo has confirmed that an Android version is schedule for release in the near future.
“There is no question, the development and implementation of this App and the subsequent Android equivalent will attract more customers to Volvo dealers in sales region EMEA,” said Rose.
“Furthermore, I believe that this development will enable our dealers to be more effective and competitive when it comes to the used equipment offering,” he concluded.
