Omeir Bin Youssef & Sons is to become the exclusive UAE distributor for Discover Energy Corp’s range of batteries.
The Abu Dhabi-based distributor will introduce Discover Energy’s ECO Power and The Bull batteries to the Emirates’ automotive market as part of the deal. Whilst the former is designed for light vehicle applications, the latter is a heavy-duty battery built for commercial vehicles.
“We are very excited to have signed up exclusively with Discover Energy Corp, and to be the first to bring this major advancement into the automotive industry in the UAE,” commented Khalifa Bin Omeir, CEO of Omeir Bin Youssef & Sons.
“These ECO batteries use award-winning, patented Germen technology, suited to meet the growing demands of electronic use in today’s vehicles,” he added.
According to the manufacturer, ECO Power batteries offer better performance during start-stop driving applications, and feature MIXTECH technology to ensure up to three times longer battery life and lower cost per cycle, compared to conventional batteries. The batteries are based upon German technology, and are maintenance free, according to Discover Energy.
Built for the commercial end of the market, The Bull is a performance-focused battery for heavy-duty vehicles. Its key features include extreme cold cranking, vibration resistance, and a flat-top design with integrated handles.
“The ECO batteries have impressive power and incredible life span,” said Ashwani Shiv, divisional manager at Omeir Bin Youssef & Sons.
“We are looking forward to this association and [to] creating a green revolution in the automotive industry in the Middle East,” he concluded.
The distribution deal will be signed on 4 September at Abu Dhabi’s Rosewood Hotel in the presence of Ralf Schroeer, Chargé d’ Affaires of the German Embassy in the UAE.
