Hala Heavy Equipment has launched a five-tonne-capacity wheel loader tailored for the Middle East.
The Chinese-manufactured Heli 958 has been tested extensively in the GCC, and has been tweaked to cope with the region’s harsh operating conditions.
“The 958 has undergone two years of testing in Saudi Arabia,” said Hala’s Matthew Abraham.
“Heli has modified the machine’s radiators and increased the size of the hydraulic pump. This machine has since proved itself in the toughest environments. It’s now the right time for us to move forward,” he added.
Hala – Heli’s regional distributor – has also implemented a ‘try-before-you-buy’ initiative to convince GCC contractors to take a chance on the new wheel loader.
“We’ve imported one of these machines, and we’ve been lending it out to various clients to trial,” Abraham told PMV.
“They can test the model on their site to be sure that there are no issues with the machine. We’ve had excellent feedback. The success of this unit will depend on allowing customers to inspect it and use it before they commit,” he concluded.
Hala is currently showcasing the Heli 958 at the Big 5 in Dubai, UAE. For full coverage of the show, check out the December 2014 issue of PMV Middle East.
