Tiong Woon Crane & Transport has taken delivery of five 300-tonne capacity Grove cranes.
The lifting specialist purchased the GMK6300L all-terrain units to strengthen its Singapore fleet.
Now that the latest order has been fulfilled, Tiong Woon has a total of 18 Grove cranes at its disposal, all of which have arrived within the past seven years.
“Grove cranes are very popular units with our customers,” explained Ang Kah Hong, chairman of Tiang Woon.
“When the Grove GMK6300L was launched in 2010, we could see that its on-board innovation gave it capabilities that other cranes didn’t have, particularly with its 80m boom.
“We watched the arrival of the first units in Asia with interest and quickly realised that this crane would be a great solution for many of our customers. It was only a matter of time until we ordered our own, and we saw such strong potential from the GMK6300L that we ordered five units,” he added.
The GMK6300L is a six-axle, all-terrain crane that, in addition to its 300-tonne capacity and 80m-long main moom, features Grove’s MEGATRAK independent suspension system and all-wheel steering.
The recently-delivered machines will supplement a selection of their Grove-branded cousins, including Tiang Woon’s RT760E and RT890E rough-terrain models, and its GMK3055 and GMK5095 all-terrain cranes.
The five-crane deal represents one of the largest orders that Grove has received for its GMK6300L units.
