Konecranes has introduced its CLX chain hoist to the Middle East market.
The crane has been built to be used across a broad array of industries, from general manufacturing to maintenance.
One of the CLX units has already undergone local trials at Dubai-based irrigation equipment manufacturer, Valmont.
“Since installing the hoist, we have not had a single problem as of today,” commented Ganesh Pai, procurement manager at Valmont Middle East.
“We are very satisfied with the hoist and have also ordered a second CLX hoist to further increase productivity,” he added.
The CLX models boast a safe working range of 500kg to 5,000kg, and is capable of performing 300 starts per hour, according to its designers.
The hoists now feature self-adjusting brakes designed to perform more than a million operations. For additional safety, the brakes and clutches are installed on the same axle to prevent the load from dropping or slipping.
Konecranes’ latest model has been designed for swift maintenance access, with easily accessible and removable components, and the aesthetics of the crane have also received plaudits. The CLX received a RedDot Award for excellent product design in recognition of its “modern looks”.
