Researchers and designers working in the machinery and vehicles sectors push the boundaries of what is possible so frequently, it’s easy to forget about the vital work taking place behind the scenes to ensure that their creations run as intended.

As the authorised UAE channel partner of BP Lubricants, GENAVCO is only too aware of the difference that the modern oils and greases can make to an engine’s performance.

“It’s not like the old days when we used to use really thick, dirty oils,” explained Babar Ahmed, GENAVCO’s division manager with responsibility for BP Lubricants.

“Modern engines require modern lubricants; specialised synthetic products with lower viscosities that offer greater protection and allow them to run effectively,” he explained.

Indeed, encouraging customers to switch to synthetic lubricants represents a major push for GENAVCO at present, not only because of the associated performance-related benefits but also due to the environmental implications.

The firm is committed to strengthening its customer service network as well as the quality of the products that it offers. In conjunction with BP Lubricants, GENAVCO intends to open a Quick Lube station in Abu Dhabi during in mid-2015.

“[We are] going to continue to concentrate on the Quick Lube segment,” explained Ahmed. “We have already established a Quick Lube station in Sharjah, and very soon, we will be opening a facility in Abu Dhabi. We hope to open this facility towards the middle of 2015. This will not be a huge station; we’re going to have two pits capable of accommodating both light and heavy vehicles. To start with, I think that these two pits will do a good job.”

GENAVCO’s Quick Lube stations are designed to allow vehicle owners to have their oil changed in a timely and convenient manner. In addition to the Abu Dhabi garage, Ahmed mooted the possibility of a similar, commercially-minded facility in Dubai.

“We are also looking into opening similar facilities in Dubai’s industrial zones,” he revealed. “These are likely to focus on commercial and industrial customers. They are slated for the future, but we have no definite timeframe for their establishment at this point.

“Basically, we intend to establish Quick Lube stations elsewhere in the UAE. GENAVCO customers are looking for the convenience to reach these places, so our strategy for these facilities is to expand as far as possible across the Emirates,” Ahmed concluded.
