Teknovinç, Potain’s authorised dealer for Turkey, has opened a new storage facility with the capacity to house up to 40 tower cranes at any one time.
The 15,000m2 facility will also be used for the provision of spare parts, training, and aftersales support to Potain’s Turkish customers.
Located in Gebze, approximately 50km east of Istanbul, the site forms part of Teknovinç’s ongoing strategy to reaffirm its position as the largest tower crane operator in Turkey.
“The opening of our new Potain tower crane yard in Gebze marks a significant milestone in our expansion plan, which is fundamental for our continued, high-quality service to customers in this region,” explained Altay Ço?kuno?lu, chairman of the board of TEKNO Group.
The crane yard’s layout has been designed to allow two-lane access for loading trucks. The facility includes designated zones for welding, painting, and high-pressure cleaning, all of which comply with local environmental regulations.
The site also features an area for the making of anchoring beams and the preparation of ballast blocks for tower-crane bases and counter jibs. The Gebze facility is fully serviced by two tower cranes.
During the yard’s inauguration, Teknovinç was presented with an ‘ELITE Dealer’ plaque, in recognition of its focus on customers, the Turkish market, and the Potain brand. The Turkish firm first achieved ELITE Dealer status in 2012 as part of a dealer development programme initiated by Potain’s parent company, Manitowoc.
“Teknovinç’s continuous investment into the team, and the facilities to better serve their customers, make us confident that they will remain an ELITE Dealer for many years to come,” said Yannick Richaud, director for Manitowoc Crane Care in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region.
The next stage of Teknovinç’s expansion plan will involve the openening of another Potain yard in Turkey’s capital city, Ankara.
