GENAVCO has sold six Liebherr excavators in just three months.
The UAE-headquartered dealer became the authorised Emirati dealer for Liebherr earthmovers at the beginning of 2015, and has yet to take delivery of its first stock consignment.
So far, GENAVCO has received orders for two 100-tonne excavators and four 40-tonne excavators, and says that it has also facilitated the sale of several Liebherr cranes.
“Things are going extremely positively,” commented Asif Sayeed Khan, division manager for GENAVCO’s Equipment Business Unit.
“We had not expected to do so much business in such a short space of time; just three months. We have yet to receive our first stock consignment. Even so, we have already sold six Liebherr machines. This has given us a boost; people are convinced by the quality of the machines,” he added.
Since becoming Liebherr’s UAE dealer, GENAVCO has taken responsibility for three of the manufacturer’s lines: excavators (both crawler and wheeled), wheel loaders, and bulldozers. However, as Khan explained, his team has also been given the scope to branch into other areas when appropriate.
“Although our primary responsibility is to sell and support Liebherr’s earthmoving equipment, the doors are open for us to sell other products,” he revealed.
“In cooperation with our principal, for example, we can sell cranes, should the opportunity present itself. In fact, we have already sold cranes – about four or five. They were not in our scope, but we facilitated these sales.
“We are also able to sell Liebherr materials handlers. These are grab-equipped excavators designed for special applications. We will consider these types of sale on a case-by-case basis.
“Our owners are happy; we’ve had a really good start. I hope that this level of business continues,” Khan concluded.
