Grove has introduced its GHC Telecrawler series of telescopic crawler cranes to the Americas.
The mobile crane manufacturer conducted a live demonstration with the cranes immediately following their unveiling.
All three models in the series were shown during the launch event: the 50-tonne capacity GHC55, the 70-tonne capacity GHC75, and the 120-tonne capacity GHC130.
“From time to time, we look beyond our traditional borders to re-evaluate our portfolio to ensure we are offering our customers a complete line of lifting options to suit their needs,” said Dave Hull, senior vice president of global sales at Grove’s parent company, Manitowoc.
“It’s with this in mind that we are introducing to you the new GBrove GHC Telecrawler series, which we know will find plenty of use in North and Latin America, with utility projects to construction, and everything in between,” he added.
After the launch, attendees – which included a selection of Grove’s regional dealers – were taken outside where a full demonstration of the GHC75 was conducted. Grove displayed the model’s skid-steering and counter-rotation capabilities in a bid to showcase the model’s manoeuvrability. The crane also demonstrated a pick-and-carry lift on a 4° incline.
“We expect that companies working in the utility, bridge-building, and marine industries are going to find considerable use for these cranes,” commented David O’Connell, president of Manitowoc dealer, Shawmut Equipment.
“This is because of the quick setup times, the 100% pick-and-carry capacities, the cranes’ full 360° swing capabilities, and because the GHC series cranes can still pick a load when not completely level,” he said.
The GHC series will be distributed exclusively by Grove in the Americas, as part of the firm’s partnership with Sennebogen Maschinenfabrik.
