Volvo Construction Equipment (Volvo CE) announced the launch of a new wheel loader series for “unregulated markets”, such as those in the Middle East and Africa region, on Thursday, 25 June, 2015, during its Volvo Days programme in Eskilstuna, Sweden.
The G Series comprises three models: the L120GZ, L60GZ, and L90GZ, and is set for release in Africa, and Russia, besides the Middle East.
The G Series will feature Volvo’s Z-bar linkage, and has been designed specifically for markets demanding low specifications, and for carrying out simple construction operations.
Production of the series is due to commence by July 2015 in Volvo CE’s Chinese factory. Masood Akar, Volvo CE’s GPPE product manager, told Construction Week that the company has started receiving orders for the machines from all three markets.
“We are yet to review the exact number of orders from each market, but firms from the Middle East, Africa, and Russia have placed orders for the series,” Akar said.
“There is no difference between the benefits offered by the F Series and G Series.
“The machines will still boast the same transmission, and eco-pedal, but the idea is to allow firms to purchase any additional features they require, as against including them as standards in the machine,” he added.
Volvo CE said the series will be ideal for use at construction quarries.
