Claas has announced that Liebherr will begin manufacturing modified telehandler for agricultural purposes under the Class Scorpion brand from 2018 under a new deal between the two companies.

Liebherr will take over manufacturing of the Scorpion from Kramer-Werke, a subsidiary of Wacker Neuson, after Kramer and Claas announced that their partnership will conclude at the end of 2017.

“By 2018, the range of Liebherr telescopic handlers will have grown and will continue to be marketed by the Liebherr sales organisation,” Liebherr said in a statement.

“The cooperation with Claas will enable Liebherr to generate additional future sales in the core target segment of construction engineering and industry with sales potential in the field of agriculture.”

Kramer has manufactured the Scorpion, while distributing the machine under the Kramer and Wacker Neuson names as well, since 2005.
