Zawawi Trading Company (ZTC) Automotive and Oman Building and Contracting Company (OBCC) agreed upon a long-term deal following the delivery of a fleet comprising 20 Mercedes-Benz Actros heavy duty trucks.
The fleet includes four Brackish water tankers, eight 18m3 tippers, and eight prime movers.
“The new Actros is the ideal partner for every transport need,”Daniel Fitzjohn, general manager, commercial vehicles, Mercedes-Benz Oman said.
“OBCC has made a calculated and strategic choice. Thanks to sturdy, proven components, the new Actros makes even the harshest conditions easy to handle, ensuring a safe and comfortable ride for drivers and goods alike.”
Haitham Musallam, representing OBCC at the signing ceremony, remarked: “While the durability, flexibility and advanced safety features of the new Actros were big factors in our decision to purchase as our new Mercedes-Benz fleet, our selection was also based on the expertise and experience of the Mercedes-Benz after-sales service network, guaranteeing the highest serviceability from our trucks,” remarked Musallam.
The Actros is highest selling truck family in the Middle East, muscatdaily.com reported. The truck’s V6 and V8 engines, with outputs ranging from 310hp to 480hp, are also popular within the industry.
