Several automakers are planning to build factories in Ras Al-Khair Industrial City, according to local daily, Arab News.
Transport firms from the automotive, aeronautic, and rail fields are planning to establish new assembly plants in the Kingdom, the newspaper reported.
The news comes following efforts from Saudi Arabian Mining Company (Ma’aden) to increase production of aluminium ore, a key material for the automotive industry.
Ma’aden has stated its commitment to provide the facilities and support necessary for local and international companies to establish strategic alliances and benefit from aluminium savings in Saudi Arabia.
The factories planned for Ras Al-Khair will be able to make use of aluminium sheets manufactured at the Ma’aden Aluminium Complex, which includes a smelter of aluminium for the production of rods, alloys, and plates, with an initial capacity of 671,317 tonnes per year.
