Swedish technology giant Ericsson’s president for North East Africa operations announced the potential of New Suez Canal Axis Development Projects to use the firm’s recently launched remote excavation technology.Â
Isil Yalcin said remote excavation allows web-based communications and real time video options to its users.Â
Excavation machines can be controlled through remotes, even from miles away.Â
The company has also developed software to send sound and video from the excavator to the operator, and sending instructions to the excavator, Yalcin said.
A report by local daily Amwal Alghad further quoted Yalcin: “We [have] developed an application to capture 360-degree video, capture audio, compress both streams and send them to the operator.” Â
