Nasser Bin Khaled (NBK) Automobiles, the exclusive distributor of Mercedes-Benz branded vehicles in Qatar, has signed a deal with contractor Abaza Group for Trading & Contracting for the supply of 40 Actros trucks for a variety of construction and haulage purposes.

“We are pleased to partner with Abaza Group for Trading & Contracting, and look forward to supporting their ambitions and building a long-lasting relationship,” said Khalid Shaaban, GM of NBK Automobiles, ostensibly the leading provider of commercial trucks in Qatar.

“NBK Automobiles and Mercedes-Benz are committed to the country’s national advancement and we are confident that the Actros range of heavy duty vehicles will deliver as per expectations.”

The Actros, in its various forms, has been the best-selling truck in Qatar since the launch of its revised model back in 2008, and NBK Automobiles has enjoyed a prosperous relationship with the Mercedes-Benz commercial vehicles brand.

In July, Zawawi Trading Company Automotive also signed a deal to supply Oman Building and Contracting Company (OBCC) with a heavy-duty fleet of 20 Actros trucks, including four Brackish water tankers, eight 18m3 tippers, and eight prime movers.

At the time, Muscat Daily concurred that the Actros is the highest selling truck family in the Middle East, with the V6 and V8 engines,  ranging from 310hp to 480hp, are particularly popular within the construction industry.

In November, Gargash Enterprises similarly completed the hand-over of a fleet of 10 Actros trucks optimised for construction and long-distance haulage to National Transport, owned by Hamad Lootah, at its workshop in Thouban, Fujairah.
