FAMCO has announced the winner of its excavator challenge, which took place at Construction Week: Leaders in Construction Summit UAE 2015.
Juliette Ghandour, marketing specialist for Parsons in Abu Dhabi, was named best-performing amateur excavator operator by FAMCO, Â the exclusive distributor for Volvo Construction Equipment in the UAE.
Event attendees were given the chance to test their skills as an excavator operator on a Volvo CE simulator, which replicates the experience of operating one of the Swedish manufacturer’s giant diggers.
In addition to allowing enthusiastic amateurs to experience life as an excavator operator, the simulator boasts applications within the practical realm. This type of machine is used by FAMCO and Volvo CE to provide 40-hour crash courses for workers looking to gain excavator licences.
The competition, which took place at the FAMCO stand throughout the summit, was adjudicated by Nasser Ahmed Al Baloushi, product support manager at FAMCO.
Having been judged the best-performing amateur operator on the day, Ghandour was awarded a scale model of a Volvo CE excavator by the FAMCO team.
