The Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) has released statistics revealing solid eight-digit dollar-value growth in Brazilian machinery exports to Arab countries.
According to the trade body’s statistics, Arab countries purchased $226m in machinery in 2015 compared to $211.43m in 2014 – a 7% rate of growth.
The top three importers of Brazilian machinery were Egypt at $64m, followed by Saudi Arabia at $56m and the UAE at $51m.
The most popular type of machinery imported from Brazil is bulldozers, followed by wheel loaders, and a range of other grading, levelling and other surfacing machines
“The growth figures demonstrate the popularity of high quality Brazilian products in regional markets,” Dr Michel Alaby, Secretary General and CEO of the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce.
“Arab countries have shared extremely amicable business relations with Brazil and the demand looks to continue in the mid- to long-term in the Arab construction sector.”
