Ford Middle East has appointed Thierry Sabbagh as its regional MD with the aim of improve distributor marketing efforts and stepping up the fleet and commercial vehicle business.
The Lebanese national has been with Ford Middle East since 2012 as the regional sales director for the Ford and Lincoln dealership across the GCC markets, as well as Lebanon, Jordan, Iraq, Afghanistan and Yemen.
Ford Trucks formally entered the Gulf market in 2014, and last year launched three 2016 models tailored to the Middle East market: the 1843T tractor head, 3535M 6×4 chassis mixer and larger 4135M 8×4 chassis mixer at The Big 5 trade exhibition in Dubai and subsequently Saudi Transtec.
Sabbagh commented: “For the continued success of Ford in our region, certain priorities including customer satisfaction will help us reach our goals.
“An improved dealer network and level of capability, along with making the customer sales and service experiences second-to-none, can ensure the growth of Ford in this region moving forward.”
Ford’s commercial vehicle is presently limited to the UAE and Saudi Arabia, but the group has plans to expand to include Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and three locations across Iraq: Erbil, Basra and Baghdad.
