First Vehicles, a joint venture between the UAE-based Swaidan Trading and Oman’s Al Izz Group, has signed a deal with Oman National Transport Company (ONTC) for the supply of 40 low-floor VDL-brand buses together with aftersales services.

VDL is a leading Western European manufactured brand specialising in public transport buses and high end luxury coaches, and known for its renowned for its quality, durability, low fuel consumption and low maintenance costs.

Ajit Kumar, CEO of Swaidan Trading, said: “This is our first major contract in Oman and we are looking to expand our business here even further. We supply not only the VDL buses but a full maintenance and spare parts service in Oman – for which we have highly qualified technicians on the ground.”

Established with Al Izz Group in 2015, First Vehicles is dedicated to supplying high-end models of buses and commercial vehicles along with a comprehensive maintenance and spare parts service.

Swaidan has been the trading arm of the Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group since 1979 and maintains a workforce 770 people.
