Trevi Group’s Ground Improvement Division will grow its heavy-duty GCC fleet by around 15% within the first half of 2016.

The Italy-headquartered company, which boasts an existing GCC fleet of more than 20 crawler cranes, has already placed orders for additional units.

The group will re-evaluate the size of its fleet once the latest regional additions have arrived.

Commenting on the expansion, Basem Shouman, country manager of the Ground Improvement Division at Swissboring, Trevi Group’s UAE branch, said: “We’re currently looking to expand the size of our fleet. Some equipment has already been ordered and is on its way.

“At present, we have access to more than 20 heavy units in the GCC,” he told Construction Week. “We will be expanding the size of our fleet by around 15% within the first half of this year. Our group will then re-evaluate its assets to see whether further acquisitions are necessary.”

The new units will be used by Trevi Group ground improvement companies operating across the GCC, which include Swissboring in the UAE, Qatar and Oman, and Trevi Arabian Soil Contractors in Saudi Arabia.

“Our division’s mobile fleet is used across all of our GCC markets. We deploy units according to the requirements of specific projects,” Shouman concluded.
