Doha Marketing Services Company (Domasco) has delivered 58 Volvo FM 400 4X2 tractor head trucks to Tokyo Freight Services, a freight forwarding and shipping company, in Qatar.

This purchase more than doubles the operational fleet of Tokyo Freight Services, which was founded in 1992, in the Qatar market, where it was previously stated to possess 52 vehicles.

 

Faisal Sharif, the managing director at Domasco said: “Volvo Trucks is witnessing solid growth while retaining a leading position in the Qatari market.

“Safeguarding the investment of our clients with superior equipment and after sales support is our prime goal.”

Muthanikatt Abdulla, managing director at Tokyo Freight Services, said, “It was quite an aggressive decision for us to buy 58 trucks with trailers during the current global recession.”

He added that competitiveness in the market played a significant part in the purchase, saying: “We believe that the only way to stay competitive in the market is to provide efficient and fast delivery service to continuously support our customers from whom we owe our success.

“That’s why we’ve chosen Volvo FM400 tractor heads due to its high quality and when it’s coupled with value added services provided by Domasco, we expect an increase in our fleet uptime.”

Mohammad Majeed, sales and marketing Manager of Commercial Vehicles at Domasco added htat the durability of the machines was a major consideration: “Volvo trucks are brawny steel titans that can take on any extreme road condition or climate variances in Qatar.”
