Oman’s Towell Auto Centre (TAC) has announced its roll-out of 2.8-litre and 3.8-litre, 3t and 4t, light-duty trucks from JAC Motors, powered by Cummins engines and designed for various road conditions.
A TAC spokesperson explained: “The four-tonne JAC trucks use a Cummins ISF diesel engine that meets Euro III emission standards. Cummins ISF engines are responsive and make the truck pretty flexible, regardless of what load is carried at the back, being able to merge well with the city traffic.
“In addition, truck operators appreciate significantly lower noise levels with smoother engine operation. The Cummins engines in JAC trucks give the kind of exceptional performance and productivity that one expects from the world’s largest independent diesel engine manufacturer.”
The 2.8-litre JAC truck boasts a maximum power of 107hp at 3600rpm with a maximum torque of 240Nm at 2000rpm, while the 3.8-litre model delivers a maximum power of 141hp at 2600 rpm and 450Nm of torque between 1200 to 2200rpm, giving them a performance “comparable to or at times exceeding their rivals”, according to TAC.
TAC will be the sole distributor of JAC light-duty trucks in Oman. It has a network of 11 showrooms, 13 service and 10 parts outlets across the country.
Established as Jianghuai Automobile Co. in 1964, JAC Motors is a significant truck brand in China, and sells vehicles to over 100 countries worldwide.
TAC added: “Cummins has the best technology to meet the power requirement. The engines give JAC trucks a clear advantage, improving fuel economy and lowering operating costs, power and torque along with reliable and durable performance.”
