Efforts Towards Low Emissions Targets: Clean Construction Industry – Frost & Sullivan

23 November – PMV Live 2016

Infrastructure companies in the Middle East need to embrace new technologies in order to make their contribution to a cleaner environment and meet low emissions targets, according to industry expert, Prasad Mane, from Frost & Sullivan.

Mane, who will deliver a presentation titled ‘Efforts Towards Low Emission Targets: Clean Construction Industry’ at PMV Live on 23 November, said that fuel efficiency and emission control are becoming significant concerns for environmental policy-makers in the Middle East.

He explained: “Heavy machinery manufacturers have already started using alternative fuel sources in their machines, while original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) are now using liquefied natural gas (LNG), compressed natural gas (CNG), bio-diesels, and so forth. OEMs have taken the initiative to develop high-performance diesel machines that are fuel efficient.

“Government institutions in the GCC countries are also taking ample measures to improve fuel quality through the usage of unleaded gasoline, the proposal to use green diesel by converting natural gas to liquefied fuel, and strict adherence to follow the air pollutant standards for carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, and nitrogen oxides as per the GSO 2015 guidelines.”

This figure is well above the initially forecasted $7bn. On 22 November, Najeeb Al-Ali, executive director of Expo 2020 Dubai Bureau, will use The Big 5 2016 to address a number of issues connected to the upcoming mega event. What can we expect from the Expo 2020 pavilions? How will Dubai’s Expo benefit the construction industry and transform the region? What is the idea behind Expo 2020’s theme, ‘Connecting minds, creating the future’? All of these questions will be addressed by Al-Ali during this year’s exhibition.
