Roots Group Arabia (RGA), the dealer for Haulotte in Saudi Arabia, has provided a fleet of Haulotte electric lifts to assist with the routine facilities management and cleaning of the holy mosque, the Masjid Al-Haram, in Makkah.

Despite the Hajj being the major event in the calendar, the cleaning doesn’t stop in the absence of the huge crowds of visitors, and workers must still perform their tasks efficiently around the clock without affecting regular visitors.

This fleet includes several different models from the Haulotte range, including the Haulotte Star 10 vertical mast, which has the capability to drive at full speed with jib fully elevated, is ideal for the quick and efficient cleaning of archways, bridges, minarets, façades and columns.

Its updated AC motors provide a smooth and progressive transition between speeds for a stable yet agile drive, while also giving the operator precise control over the machine as and when required.

The Haulotte Compact 8 scissor lift is meanwhile particularly suitable for getting up close to façades, and can also be driven at full height and also has a rollout extension that can increase the width of the platform – providing an additional 0.92m of horizontal reach for additional productivity.

Models from the manufacturer’s range of compact scissors are the machine of choice for the cleaning of the Kaaba and the once yearly changing of the cover, or Kiswa, on the second day of the Hajj period – an important ceremony that has now used Haulotte Compact 14 units for three years.
